The Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Section /
Cardiac Health Education, Enhancement, and Restoration Service (CHEERS)
Program is responsible for helping surgical candidates prepare psychosocially
for operation; specifically, to enhance ability to cope with pre-surgical
stress, to educate about diagnosis, treatment plan, and prognosis, and
to strengthen motivation and sense of responsibility for the success of
the surgery.
