The Cardiovascular Surgery-Operating Room (CVS-OR) is responsible for carrying out the highest standard of care in the performance of all surgical cases in the hospital, particularly close and open heart operations.

The CVS-OR has six operating suites with complete facilities and adequate surgical support staff for five simultaneous open-heart procedures, and one additonal simultaneous closed-heart, thoracic, vascular or general surgical procedure. It also supports all major surgical procedures performed in other critical care units outside of the operating room, i.e., the catheterization laboratory, recovery room, surgical intensive care unit.
