Our Background

The Social Service office is one of the Divisions under the Administrative Services. It started as a section in 1975 with only two social workers. As years went by, the bulk of underprivileged cardiac cases increased due to referrals coming from the different areas of the country. As a result the demand for manpower likewise increased and because of this, it was upgraded into a division in 1999 with 14 staff attending the needs of both the out-patient and in-patient cases

From the words of then First Lady, Madame Imelda R. Marcos, which states: "BE THERE BUT ONE FILIPINO SICK AND UNCARED FOR, OUR MISSION IS NOT COMPLETE", the Medical Social Service derives its mission, vision and goals of quality services.

The Social Service maintains three offices, two at the 3rd Floor of the Medical Arts Building and one at the Basement near the Pharmacy. It is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM in attending to the individual needs of the underprivileged cases, the social workers have separate cubicles wherein they do one-on-one approach to meeting the psycho-social problems of the patient and/or relatives. In this manner, the stresses in both the medical and surgical treatment are also addressed.
