The Philippine Heart Center celebrates its 37th Anniversary on February 14 with the theme "PAKIKIISA". Its month-long celebration was launched on February 1 with a Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Marcelo Pamintuan, MI, at the Pagbubungkos Plaza.

During the short program that came after, Dr. Christopher Cheng, Overall Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, announced the activities lined up for the entire month of February and the world-famous Pangkat Kawayan presented a repertoire of Filipino folk songs and contemporary music. Dr. Ranulfo Javelosa, PHC Wellness Program Director, later on introduced the year-long Wellness Program for PHC staff and employees and followed by Aerobic Exercises, the inauguration of the "Wellness Wall", and a so-called "Wellness Climb" along the stairways from the basement to the PHC Wellness Complex at the roofdeck of the Medical Arts Bldg.

The PHC Wellness Gym, a project initiated and funded by the PHC Employees' Multi-Purpose Cooperative, had its blessing and ribbon-cutting rites in its location at the PHC Wellness Complex. This Gym is furnished with cardio and strength equipment for fitness and training which are available for use of PHC Employees, Medical Consultants and other fitness practitioners/wellness advocates.

The Exhibit "ARTFest at the HeART Center", a showcase of the works of National Artists from the vast PHC collection as well as those done by leading contemporary artists, was opened with Mr. Francisco Gomez, Jr., Assistant Director Administrative Services, and Mr. Fidel Sarmiento, President of the Art Association of the Philippines, cutting the ceremonial ribbon. This is in conjunction with the twin occasion of the National Heart Month and National Art Month in February.

Other highlights of the Anniversary celebration (see Calendar of Acitivities) are the Sportsfest, PRAISE (Inmcentive and Service) Awards Night, Scientific Symposium/Exhibit, Research Paper Competition, Employees Program, "PHC Got Talents", among others.
